BASIC VACUUM CLEANERS

a. Check the machine for any visual damage during transit. If any damage is found report it to the Company.

b. Make sure that the three pin plug top is fitted to the end of the mains wire. Never use the machine without the plug top as it can be dangerous for the operator.

c. Make sure that the EARTH point of your mains supply is working. take the help of a qualified electrician to check the earth point.

d. The standard machines are meant for using on 220 Volts, 50 Hz, AC mains supply. If your voltage or frequency is different, get the machine of proper rating from the Company. Do not try using the machine on a supply of different voltage/frequency as it may damage the motor of the machine.

e. There are two clamps on the sides of the container. Open these clamps and remove the filter hanging inside. All the accessories are normally packed inside the container. take them out. Refit the filter and close the machine.

The flexible hose has two different types of end-fittings on its two ends. On one side is the bed assembly and on the other side is the "hose plug" meant for fitting with the "sockets" on the machine.

There are two sockets on the machine - one on the container and other on the motor module. The one on the container is for "suction" and the other on the module is for "blowing".

Push the hose plug into the container socket (aligning the four teeth of the hose plug with the four slots in the socket) and once fully inside rotate it "clock-wise" until it locks into its position properly.

For un-plugging the hose press the plug inward and rotate it "anti-clock-wise" and pull it out.

The bend assembly of the hose has a "female taper joint" and all other accessories, including the extension wand (a rigid PVC pipe of one meter length), have male taper joint. The male taper joint of an accessory can be inserted into the female taper joint of the hose bend assembly by simultaneously rotating and pushing it in. Similarly, an accessory can be fitted to the other end of the extension wand too.

h. DRY or WET suction (WETPIK models are both dry and wet vacuum cleaners, while TURBOVAC models are dry only vacuum cleaners)

Always use the machine with a clean main filter fitted in its correct location inside the container. Do not suck water or any other liquid with these machines.

Common problems and methods of solving them
a. The machine does not switch on	Check the current supply in the wall socket Check the mains wire for any damages - if damaged, replace mains wire Check the toggle switch - replace if necessary Check the motor continuity - if not OK, check if the carbon brushes are worn-out, replace if necessary. If none of the above are applicable, contact SANTONI SERVICE CENTRE for expert help.
b. Not enough suction	Clean the mains filter. If any sticky material is clogging the filter, take the filter out and wash it after shaking out the dust. Re-fix it after it is completely dry. Replace filter if the problem persists. Make sure the "filter support plate" sits properly on the container mouth. If the filter support plate is damaged, replace it. The filter tying string gets between the filter support plate and the container brim. Let the string hand inside the container
c. Too much of noise of vibration (but there is not much sparking in the motor)	It happens when the machine is used for dry pick-up without the main filter in its place, and the dust enters the vacuum motor (VGU). This is a serious lapse on the part of the operator and can damage the motor permanently. If the motor is not damaged this problem can be solved though it needs an expert to do this job. Take the motor out and place it in a shallow water tray (water depth about 4 centimeters) for about 15 minutes. gently shake the motor in the water so that the dust inside the impellers of the motor is released. Keep the motor in its vertical position so that the water may flow out and let the motor be completely dry before re-fitting it in to the machine. If the problem persists it means the bearings of the motor are damaged. Now this job can be done only at SANTONI SERVICE CENTRE.
d. The wet squeegee does not suck water properly	Check if the throat of the squeegee is clogged with any item - clear it if necessary. The rubber lips are worn out - replace.
a. Other accessories do not suck properly	Check if the throat of the accessory is clogged with any item - clear it if necessary.
a. The hose of the machine is damaged	Replace it.
